Post-natal Treatments

Chinese medicine emphasises that the post-natal period is a time when it is essential that the mother conserves her energy and regains her lost reserves. Treatment during the first weeks after birth may enhance the healing process, improve milk supply, and minimise low moods and tiredness.

A Traditional Chinese Medicine practice called ‘mother roasting’ may also be helpful for recovery after birth. It involves moxibustion – smouldering of the herb Artemisia – over the lower abdomen and back.

I offer home visits during the first weeks of post-natal recovery time when travelling should be kept to a minimum. Please contact me for more information.
